Gratitude (1 Minute Worship)

“Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits…” — Psalm 103:1-2

I bet you can think of a time when praise came easily…Everything about life was good; you didn’t need any assistance raising your hands and offering up a shout of praise to the Lord! But I bet you can also think of a time when praise didn’t feel like a knee-jerk reaction to your surroundings…

Looking at what David went through in life, if I were in his shoes, I think I would find more than a few things to complain about. Yet so many of the psalms he wrote are ones of gratitude, praise, and trust in the Lord. That’s one of the reasons why I love David’s reminder to us in Psalm 103 — instead of focusing on the problems around him, David reminds himself of all the reasons he has to “Praise the LORD”.

I encourage you to take a few minutes to read through the entirety of Psalm 103 today, because what’s true for David is also true for us: We have an abundance of reasons why we, too, can lift our hands and our voices in praise 🙌
